Workouts - Last Week Today - September 4

fontover_201671013354641-1.jpgThis week was a bit of a challenge with running. I am in my 8th week of training for the Houston Half.  After my run on Sunday, my right foot started hurting.  I started RICE treatment, and then my left foot started hurting on Thursday.

I decided to play it safe for a few days. Tuesday's run got postponed to Wednesday.  Then, Thursdays run just got called off as my "good foot" started hurting.  I thought it best to take a page from my goals for the month and listen to my body. It was tough, but necessary.

Here's how my week shook out:

Sunday - 12 miles - I was supposed to run 5 miles slow, then 3 miles fast, followed by the final 4 miles slow. I enjoyed the workout, and felt no pain. My fast splits were supposed to be between 10:15- 10:25 in actuality they were (10:45/9:55/9:38)... I should be happy that they were reverse at least.

Monday - Rest. Continued icing the right foot.

Tuesday - Planned 6 x 800, 1 mile c/d & w/u. Actual - Rest. Continued icing the right foot

Wednesday - Planned Rest 6 x 800, 1 mile c/d & w/u. Actual - 6 miles easy (average pace 12:10)... this run was H.A.R.D. - everything hurt.

Thursday - Planned -6 miles with 4 miles fast (10:00-10:20). Actual Rest.

Friday - Rest.

Saturday - Rest

Total miles = 18

  1. Sorry about your feet!! You're doing the right thing by listening and I know it's so hard to stop. Hope everything feels better after this rest period.

  2. Hope your feet both start behaving, but great job resting and listening to your body. It isn't always easy to do when you just want to run! I hope the rest of your training goes good!
