Workouts - Last Week Today - November 13

fontover_201671013354641-1.jpgI'm in my 7th week of training for the Houston Marathon. Race day is 63 days away... and I'm feeling pretty good

Being an evening runner, I am really not enjoying the time change.  Thankfully, I have an awesome boss that lets me leave early on the days I need to run.

I had a great week of running this week!  Here's how it all shook out:

Sunday - 14 miles easy. Had a great run, except my Garmin died after 6ish miles (I forgot to put on charger the night before), thankfully remembered I still had Runkeeper on my phone, so was able to keep track of my mileage.

Monday - 5 miles easy with the Goose's Acre Running Club.

Tuesday - 5 miles & stride outs with Anam + strength exercises

Wednesday -  AM Yoga

Thursday - 6 miles total; 1 mile warm-up/cool-down & 2 x 2 mi fast (goal pace 9:55), was surprised with my splits at avg 9:35 and 9:05! The weather had cooled down and humidity was g.o.n.e. - gone.

Friday - Rest. Headed up to the deer lease for a little unplugged time.

Saturday - Rest.

Total Miles = 30

I'm linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippi Piddlin’ for the Weekly Wrap; and Nicole, Annmarie, Jen, and Michelle for Wild Workout Wednesday.

  1. Sounds like a solid week! As a morning runner, I love the time change. :-) Seriously, though, it was depressing for it to still be totally dark when I got to work. It's awesome that your boss lets you leave early for your long runs.

  2. Where do you work? Sounds like you have a great boss that lets you leave early to run. I am not a morning runner either, but have to be on days I work in the evenings. Great job completing your 14 miles. I think I would have thrown in the towel once my Garmin died.

  3. 63 days! With all the holiday craziness...your marathon is practically here already. LOL. You had nice week of mileage! How awesome you can leave early on running days. I failed to charge my Garmin one day last week and had to run 5 miles without it. EEK. Thankfully, I know my neighborhood well enough to do the five miles without it. Our mornings are definitely cooler and less humid. Finally! Thanks for linking, Vicki!

  4. I am very interested able to flex my time to do this. Yes, we have finally broken into a fall like pattern, it's amazing what a few degrees can do to make running feel almost effortless!

  7. Coming to you via the Weekly Wrap! Isn't it awesome to get nicer weather? We have a cool front in FL and the high is 75 today! I hate it when I forget to charge my Garmin!

  8. I'm having a really hard time adjusting to the time change. I've never had a winter race, so my training is usually done by this time of year. But training must carry on!
