Winter Scenes From My Runs

wp-1473774907071.jpgToday I'm joining the lovely ladies for Tuesdays On The Run.  Where we talk about a different topic each week that is running related.

Today's topic is "Winter Scenes From My Run".  Winter in H-town isn't much different than the other seasons.  There is less green. No ice... no snow... not a lot of dead looking trees. Sometimes there is grey, dreary days... but this winter it seems that blue skies are winning.

I still see plenty of wildlife... mostly squirrels, ducks, geese, and the big white bird.

During winter, since it gets dark so early I run a lot on the Waterway.  It is a lighted pathway that is always buzzing with activity - runners, walkers, bikers, etc. so I feel a little safer in the dark.

[caption id="attachment_2233" align="aligncenter" width="300"] rainy, dreary... blah! I was excited to find out how to get to the pedestrian bridge I drive under every day.[/caption]

What do your winter scenes look like?

  1. You have some great winter scenes! Mine really don't change that much from my year round scenes unless there is snow, which we haven't had this year.

  2. No, I would never tire of twinkle lighted trees! If only I had some to distract me.

Today was so ugly (snow & freezing rain), yet I got it done.

  3. I have big white birds like that one in my yard in summer! And then they must migrate down your way. Very pretty!

  4. You have great things to look at on your runs. I'd be happy to see that all year long.

  5. My winter scenes this year have been mostly in my mudroom, atop the treadmill....which is why i went rogue and wrote about music instead ;-)

  6. We have not had any snow this year that has stuck. January was full of dreary grey days though. It's almost spring though right?!

  7. I hope they don't take them down! I don't recall them being up in the summertime.

  8. It's been so long since I've ran on a treadmill... I remember those winter scenes though.

  10. My winter running is similar to yours. It doesn't really change much. Gets a bit colder, no ice or snow either though. We are getting some pretty crazy rain right now (like flooding, rock slice, dam breaking crazy!), but I suck it up and go anyway haha. I don't have any cool places to run nearby like you do though! Wow, that Enchanted Promenade would be such a nice scene to run through.
