May Coffee Date

wp-1472756999291.jpgToday I'm joining the Ultimate Coffee Date for some catching up!  On the first Saturday of the month... we gather with our warm beverage of choice for some catch up!

Over tea,  I'd tell you that I'm really excited for my upcoming vacation.  I'm going back home to NE KS (to my little town near Lawrence, KS), to visit my family and friends.  I'll be there a little over a week and my schedule is already filling up with ball games, 8th grade graduation, college graduation parties, and races!

Over tea or coffee, I'd share with you that I'm running a few races while I'm up in Kansas.  First off is the Running With The Cows half marathon on the 13th, then on the 20th I'm running a 5k to benefit TBI awareness at my niece's school.

Over tea or coffee, I'd probably be bursting at the seams with excitement since I signed up to run the Chicago marathon this fall.  My work is one of the sponsors, so I snagged a complementary entry.  The hubs is pretty excited to come along since his best friend from high school lives in Chicago and it has been too long since they've seen each other.

Over tea, I'd ask if you've tried the new Nuun Performance.  I just tried it out during my long run last week and my first impressions were good.  It's a drink with electrolytes and carbs for workouts lasting over 90 minutes.  I had ordered the blueberry strawberry, but was sent the orange mango by mistake ... Nuun had me keep that one and they are sending out the flavor that I actually ordered.  I can't wait to try the blueberry strawberry flavor, the orange mango was pretty good.

Over tea, I'd tell you about going to the Peoples Climate March.  It was in Houston, near the ship channel and industrial area... they picked that area to highlight the communities that are effected by industry and pollution.  I was a little disappointed that it didn't get the media coverage that it deserved.  I enjoyed the speakers and being able to stand up for the climate.

Well, that catches me up...what would you tell me, if we were having tea or coffee?

  5. Running with the cows? Now that sounds fun!! :) Congratulations on snagging a free entry to Chicago ...how awesome!

I've been tempted to try the new Nuun...but was worried that it would have that awful after taste that their new formula of tablets have. I loved their original formula and was so disappointed when they changed it. Please tell me this stuff doesn't taste like that!!!

  11. It's a fun race out on country roads... good time (only last year I didn't spot one cow). I hadn't ever tried the original formulation of Nuun, and don't notice the after taste of the current formula... so maybe I'm not the right person to ask :-)
