Runfessing over Tea

Woohoo for Friday!  I am so ready to get this weekend started! But, before we get into the weekend festivities... Join me over tea for some runfessions.

I RUNFESS...

I have vacation brain... we leave for Jamaica on Monday and I'm a bit excited.  I have been listening to Bob Marley on my runs... and we've been packing for the past 2 weeks.  I've got 2 runs to do while I'm on vacation to keep to my training plan - easy 4 milers... I've already level set with the hubs, just need to make sure the running shoes and sports bra makes it into the suitcase.

I've started training for the Chicago Marathon... I'm in week two and the mileage is easy.  However, I want to eat everything in sight... could it be I'm burning all the calories with my cross-training that I'm actually doing this time instead of thinking about it?  I don't really think so, I need to rein this in.

My June mileage was quite a bit lower than I planned.... I'm ok with that.  I had a very low mileage week and took a full week off, my legs were starting to ache and now they feel great - well worth the rest.

The hubs went and joined a gym back in May.  I thought I'd see the inside of it maybe 3 or 4 times a month. That hasn't been the case... in the past 2 weeks I've been there 7 times. I'm beginning to like the flexibility of having a treadmill available for when I can't run.

Speaking of not being able to run outside... a few days ago someone tailgated the hubs home and when he got out of his truck, he noticed the tailgater was sitting at the end of the driveway in his car taking pictures of him/the truck/the house.  CREEPY!  He called the sheriffs department and I took to social media posting the incident on Next Door and on our neighborhood block watch group.  Turns out this guy had been busy doing that to a whole bunch of other people in our neighborhood that day and the day prior. A few hours after the incident, someone got a picture of his license plate and we had the sheriffs come out to try to locate him.  The received a load of complaints about this guy taking pictures only of people getting out of their vehicles - STRANGE.  I took my run to the treadmill that night.

Have you dealt with any creepers?  Do you have any vacation plans this summer? Any runfessions?

  9. Listening to Bob Marley always puts me on vacation mode!

Definitely not a fan of finding creepers. :[ I've dealt with them before (we had a peeping tom who ended up also breaking into our apartment and stealing a bunch of stuff) and kinda hope to never have to again. :\ I hope they find the guy!

  13. Yikes - that does sound creepy. It's probably just some rando getting a kick out of scaring people and not someone doing anything especially heinous though... Jamaica does sound like a great trip! Enjoy the beach!
