Chicago Marathon Training - Week 12

Workouts Last Week TodayI'm recapping the past week of training for the Chicago Marathon.  This was Chicago Marathon Training - Week 12 in the training cycle. I'll be running in Chicago in 4 short weeks!

This week I got through most of my workouts without a hitch.  I was scheduled to run mile repeats on Monday, but it was my birthday and I just wanted to run for fun.  Since I had mile repeats also on the schedule for Wednesday, I didn't think it would hurt.

As I had mentioned before, my gym is closed for repairs... it got Harvey'd.  I missed out on any type of cross-training or strength this week.  I've got a plan for next week!

This week, Houston was blessed with the most gorgeous weather I have experienced in early September.  It sure made all my runs feel effortless!

Saturday, I drove out to East Texas for a trail run of 25k... it was a beautiful day for a run through the forest, more on that later.

Chicago Marathon Training - Week 12:

Monday - 4.9 easy miles for my birthday!
