A Week Of Recovery

Chicago Marathon training - week 13After taking a week off from running, this week I started running again.  All my runs were easy effort and this was a week of recovery.  I really took it easy, knowing that on Monday I start another training cycle for the Houston Marathon.

Thanks to a cool front, the weather was delightful this week for most of the week.  Saturday the humidity crept back up, but it is typical for H-town.

I have a half marathon coming up next weekend... I don't want to jinx anything, but it looks like we will have the weather that I wished for in Chicago in Houston.  Keep your fingers crossed for me!

A Week of Recovery:

Monday - 3 easy miles

A Week of Recovery

Tuesday - Rest.

Wednesday - Rest.

Thursday - 4.5 miles easy

A Week of Recovery

Friday - 3 miles easy.

A Week of Recovery

Saturday - 10 miles easy.

Sunday - Rest.

Total Miles = 20.5

  3. I'm in agreement...10 miles for an easy run does not compute LOL (that is, unless I just ran a much longer run the previous weekend) ;-)

  5. LOL... I guess it's perspective. I didnt push the pace, I guess it felt easier than those 18 and 20 milers when it was 10+ degrees warmer.

  6. Of course we're supposed to freeze this week in Chicago. Wish it could've been cooler for the marathon but it rarely is. All the best with Houston!

  7. Glad that the weather will be cooler in Houston for your upcoming race! Of course it's still in the mid-upper 70's here in CT with tons of humidity - ugh!

  8. I ran a marathon in January after running Chicago. It ended up being my best. I think you may find the same results! Fingers crossed. Good luck with your upcoming half marathon! Thanks for linking.
