Houston Marathon Training - Week 4

Chicago Marathon training - week 13

I just finished week 4 of my 12 week training cycle for the Houston Marathon.  This is the recap for my Houston Marathon Training - Week 4.

This week I continued my early morning workouts and Yin Yoga one night this week. Other than workouts, my week was pretty quiet. The hubs came down with a serious cold and I spent a lot of time washing my hands and disenfecting everything he touched... colds - ain't nobody got time for that!

Nutrition this week was good... I continued cooking my way through Run Fast Eat Slow with Moroccan Lentil Salad for lunch during the week.  After my long tempo run on Thursday I definately splurged with breakfast tacos from Torcheys.

Sunday - Rest. Today I noticed my knees hurt while I was out running errands.  I had a lot of errands and at one point I noticed I was limping pretty bad.  With this development, I've decided to take next week off to rest, stretch and baby those knees.

Total Miles = 30

I'm linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippi Piddlin’ for the Weekly Wrap.

  1. I love that cookbook! I saw on instagram that their next one is coming out in the summer and is something like "run fast, eat slow, cook fast." I'm really looking forward to it because the recipes are so good but they take FOREVER to make!

And I didn't see that she'll have a second cookbook. Now that more people know who she is after NY . . .

  6. Ain't nobody got time for achy knees or colds! I hope a little rest is all you "kneed" (couldn't resist). You've got a great base of mileage right now so it will not hurt to take some extra rest days. I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving! Thanks for linking!
