Houston Marathon Training - Race Week!

Chicago Marathon training - week 13

This week marks week the final week of my 12 week training cycle for the Houston Marathon is in the books.  This is the recap for my Houston Marathon Training - Race Week!

I took tapering to a whole new level this week!  I didn't do much of anything activity wise,  I did get in the runs in. My body really wanted sleep... so, I woke up later/went to bed earlier this week.  Foam rolling happened every evening before bed.

I was careful with my nutrition choices this week.  I made a kale salad and my black eyed pea and barley soup to eat during the week.  Keeping my meals around race day tried and true.

Saturday was expo day and I had so much fun! In addition to meeting some of my TROT Team, I also saw Meb and Carl Lewis.  Sunday was race day... I'll have my race report out for next week.  I had a blast during the race and even managed a PR!

  1. High 5 on the PR! And having fun is always winning.

I don't really think you can rest too much before a race. Looking forward to the recap!
