My Running (not so) Guilty Pleasures

wp-1473774907071.jpgToday I'm joining the lovely ladies for Tuesdays On The Run.  Where we talk about a different topic each week that is running related. Today's topic is "Running Guilty Pleasures".  I'm sharing my running (not so) guilty pleasures.

We all have them... things we derive pleasure from that aren't all that great for us.  One of mine is french onion dip and ruffles paired with a glass of red wine.  I rarely have that combo, but when I tell the hubs I want my guilty pleasure, he knows exactly what I mean.

I really can't feel guilty about my running related pleasures because, well... running is good for us, right?

My Running (not so) Guilty Pleasures

Changing up my workout so I can run with my dogs.  My dogs love to run with me and I love to run with my dogs.  When the weather is nice, I've been known to switch it up so I can run with them.  I may switch out a speed workout for an easy, or loop back early to the house to pick them up.

Searching for races where ever we go to vacation - It doesn't always work out, but finding a race when I'm already in a new city is awesome!  It's even better when visiting family if they want to make it a group outing!

My Running (not so) Guilty Pleasures

Wearing workout clothes as regular clothes - Sometimes it works out that I can wear a pair of tights as leggings and get away with it. They are super comfortable... and I feel like I'm "sticking it to the man" when I wear them to work.

Torchy's Tacos  - Thoughts of those tacos sometimes are what get me through my long runs and hard workouts.  Who wouldn't want to run all the miles, eat all the tacos?

What kind of running guilty pleasure do you have? Do you think about food when running?

Today I'm linking up with MCM Mama Runs, Marcia’s Healthy Slice, and My no-guilt life for Tuesdays on the Run.

  1. Oooh now I want Ruffles and French Onion dip! When I run marathons and get past mile 20 or so I inevitably smell food and get kind of pissed when I realize people have finished and are eating. Talk about incentive to keep running. Haha!

  2. I love racecations. It's a great way to explore a new city and since you're running, you don't feel as bad about indulging in yummy vacation food!

  3. I run to get away from it all. Although I sometimes enjoy running with other people, it's nice to not have to worry about running too fast or slow for their pace. It can be nice not to have to carry on a conversation. Yet, running alone is sometimes a little....lonely.
I have found my solution. My two-year-old dog, Murphy, has become my dependable running pal. He loves to run. However, we haven't always been exactly graceful together. It's taken about a few months for us to be able to consistently run together in synch, without risking injury to Murphy or myself.

    Cheerio
