Last Week Today - Weekly Wrap July 29, 2018

This week I finally am feeling like I'm back in a regular training routine.  Even though I haven't been running a lot... I'm getting other types of workouts in and staying active.  This is Last Week Today - Weekly Wrap July 29, 2018.

Firstly, I felt like celebrations were in order on Friday when I realized I had gotten up early and made it to the gym every day before work!  There were several days I wanted to turn off the alarm and roll back over, but I resisted and got up.

Last week I smashed my fears and tried out a body pump class.  Turns out I really enjoyed it.  I made it to that class 3 times this week.  There were some serious DOMS from the first two classes, but eventually they went away.

I only ran 6 miles this week... and they were all treadmill miles.  I'm just not finding the motivation right now to get out there in the heat and pound the pavement.  Usually we don't have "heat advisories" in Houston, but we have had them here and there for the past few weeks.

Saturday, I went to the scuba park - the Blue Lagoon with the hubs.  Usually I just float, but I decided to split my time with actually swimming and floating.  It was a lot of fun!

  4. I’m so impressed with your early gym visits each day! I know several people who really love their body pump classes. Maybe I should try one. I assume you practice scuba at a scuba park? I’ve just never heard of one. Thanks for linking.

  5. Congrats on making it to the gym every day last week before work. You must have gotten up pretty early. That is quite the commitment. Isn't Body Pump the greatest? I love teaching that class.

  11. I really like the energy it gives me at the beginning of the day and being able to spend time in the evening with the hubs. You should try body pump... it is a lot of fun! Yes... there are a couple "scuba parks" around Houston... they are where classes go to do the open water part of the certification. Then once you are certified you can go back and dive to keep your skills up or just have fun.

  12. I'm not a morning person... that alarm goes off waay too early for me (4am). Body pump is really a blast!
