Chicago Marathon Training - Week 14

Chicago Marathon training - week 13I'm recapping the past week of training for the Chicago Marathon.  This was Chicago Marathon Training - Week 14 in the training cycle. In 2 short weeks, I'll be running the streets of Chicago!

This week I started my taper, and while I was still waking up tired I remedied that Saturday night, clocking 13 hours of sound sleep.

I got to the gym once this week for a strength session and made it to yin yoga twice this week!

I continued eating pretty good this week... making another large batch of Roasted Broccoli, Sweet Potato, and Chickpea Salad for lunch.  This week I added in some baked tofu for extra protein.

Chicago Marathon Training - Week 14:

Monday - 4 easy miles treadmill miles thanks to the thunderstorm that popped up on my way home from work.

Tuesday - Strength training & Yin yoga.

Chicago Marathon Training - Week 14

Wednesday - 8 miles.  This was supposed to have 6 miles at a tempo effort, but the heat and humidity caught up with me and it was just a train wreck of a run.  I did manage to complete the 8 miles, but it was not pretty.

Chicago Marathon Training - Week 14

Thursday - Yin yoga.

Friday - 6 miles easy.  After Wednesday's run, I was happy that this was a great run!

Saturday - 10 miles.  Last double digit run before Chicago!

Sunday - Rest.

Total Miles = 28

  4. Whoot! You are almost there. I hope you are enjoying the taper. Chicago will be an amazing experience. I've got my fingers crossed for the weather -- but surely it will be cooler than what you've been training in. Great jumping shot, by the way. Thanks for linking!

  5. I am enjoying the taper! I've been stalking the weather... and I'm hoping for cooler conditions than what I've been training in (that heat wave they had this week, has me a little nervous)..
