Today, my brew is a cup of Katz Coffee Jumping Mouse.
Over Coffee...
I'd tell you that the hubs and I are running a 5k in the morning. It's the Southern Star Brewing Co. 5k. He was excited about the free beer afterwards... I'm hoping we actually get to drink some before he wants to go home! I ran it in 2015 and 2016 and had a blast! My goal for tomorrow is simple... just have fun.
Over Coffee...
I'd mention that I trying to decide whether to drop down to 10k at Habanero Hundred or stay at 20k. My running has been quite sparse this summer and my outdoor running (heat training) has been almost non-existent. This is a race that starts at high noon... so the sun and temps will be high. I'm also volunteering race morning at packet pick-up and in the evening as the directors assistant. Decisions... decisions...
Over Coffee...
I'd tell you that next week we are going to Costa Rica! This trip has been in the works for a while, we are going with some friends that moved to Florida in January. It's going to be an active vacation... with snorkeling, kayaking, SUP and hopefully some hiking. I'm bringing my running shoes and hoping for a couple runs early in the morning. I do have to admit that I am a bit nervous about the hubs diving with sharks. He'll be ok... right?
Over Coffee...
I'd tell you that I'm really loving my body pump class. I've been going for the past 2 1/2 weeks. That hour flies by, even though we do untold number of squats!
Over Coffee...
I'd tell you that we rescued a kitten! She's a little orange and white kitten and is a bundle of energy. She was 7 weeks old when we got her and she already rules the house.
Well, that catches me up...what would you tell me, if we were having coffee?
I'm linking up with Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five 2.0 and Got 2 Run 4 Me & Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date!

Aw, I'm a dog person, but that kitten is so cute! Costa Rica is going to be amazing -- hopefully it will not be shark week. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us for coffee!
That race sounds hot! There's no way I could even do a 10k in that heat. You are brave.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Costa Rica! I've never been but I'd love to go.
Boy that sounds like a hot race! I'd be lucky to hang on for a 10K - Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteCosta Rico sounds like so much fun - can't wait to hear about your adventures!
I hope your 5k went well! The weather has definitely been making running comfortably more difficult! I took a bodypump class for the first time in ages yesterday and the amount of squats we did...oh the burn, hahaha.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Costa Rica!!
I feel you on the summer run training! It's tough going out there some days for sure. Costa Rica sounds amazing is definitely on my list. Enjoy the race tomorrow w your hubs. Thanks for joining us for coffee!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an amazing vacation! I tend not to drop down, but I'm the crazy one who intends to run MCM this fall, despite not being able to really train at the moment. So don't listen to me...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the race tomorrow and Cost Rica! Sounds amazing
ReplyDeleteCosta Rica sounds fabulous! Can't wait to follow along vicariously through IG. :) Major Hubs and I are headed to London in a few weeks and are super excited about that too ....confession: I'm a bit of a royal family nerd. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't Body Pump the best??? But 'oh my squats' .....they just go on and on! Lol I tried increasing my weights a couple of weeks ago and my butt was on fire! No pain, no gain, right?
Wow, Costa Rica! And your haberno race sounds hot, indeed! I'd go with the 20K, but I embrace the heat more than others LOL
ReplyDeleteI haven't caught up with you in so long! I miss kittens. And frankly, when Gizmo is gone, I'm not sure I trust Bandit around a kitten. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
ReplyDeleteI tend to be pretty cautious when it comes to running. Live to run another day, I always say.
Costa Rica! Very exciting! It's been a really long time since we went anywhere outside of the country.
My cup is full of Yogi Egyptian Licorice tea...
ReplyDeleteOver tea I would tell you my XC daughter has been committed to her training since softball season ended. She's running the hills by our home in all their heavy gravel glory that should prep her for a good season starting Aug 13th.
Over tea I would tell you there is no way I could start a race at high noon in the summertime. So, my vote would be for the 10K.
Over tea I would tell you there is a special place in my heart for orange & white cats. We have a cutie grey & white 8 week old kitten of our own finding her way into everyone's heart.
Over tea I would tell you to enjoy Costa Rica. Have fun (but not too much, like mom always said). And I can hardly wait to hear all about it.
I'm hoping that it isn't!
ReplyDeleteIt is hot... but they do have a huge medical team on hand and also ice/aid stations at every 1 1/2 mile.
ReplyDeleteI'm really trying to decide... the heat will make it miserable whatever distance.
ReplyDeleteMy body hurt for a week after my first class!
ReplyDeleteIt is tough for sure. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYea... I have a hard time dropping down too. I know I'm not setting any records, why not hang in there for extra fun and extra miles :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Patrick!
ReplyDeleteLondon sounds amazing... it is on my list! In Friday's class I tried going to the bar with the instructor during the lunges to do one legged squats... oh, that burned!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm leaning towards the 20k... I do like running in the heat way more than the cold too.
ReplyDeleteIt has been forever! Life has gotten in the way of my blogging. I was a wreck the first time we left the house with the kitten out with the dogs and cats.
ReplyDeleteYum... that is a good tea~! Hills are speed work in disguise, and that gravel will make her feet stronger. I love grey and white kittens too, and black and white, and tortie, and well... pretty much all kittens :-)
ReplyDeleteOrange cats are the best! All of the orange cats I know have the most loving personalities. Your kitten is adorable, and good for you for rescuing her.
ReplyDeleteGood luck making your 10k vs. 20k decision! Whichever distance you choose, enjoy :)
And enjoy Costa Rica, too!
I love body-pump! I need to go back to it- such a great overall workout. Have a wonderful week in Costa Rica- and don't get eaten by sharks!
ReplyDeleteCosta Rica. How fun. I have heard great things. You will have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteYour kitten is adorable. I used to have 5 cats and now we are down to 2 (one is 20 yrs old).
She is very smart... the last orange cat we had would play fetch with us!
ReplyDeleteThanks... no shark encounters here!
