Happy Friday!!! Today I'm linking up with
Courtney from Eat Pray Run DC,
Mar from Mar on the Run and
Cynthia from You Signed Up For What for the Friday Five link up. Today I'm sharing with you the five things I do each morning to keep me at my healthiest best.
Sit and meditate for 10 minutes. I find that it really clears my mind and reduces any stress I have about the day.
Drink a glass of warm lemon water. I drink it right after I get up... before I brush my teeth or have any other liquids. The benefits are many and include balancing the pH levels in the body, flushing out toxins and "getting things moving"
Oil pull for 15 minutes followed by brushing and tongue scraping. I use coconut oil primarily, but sometimes I do switch it up and use sesame seed oil. It has been said that oil pulling removes toxins, strengthens gums and whiten teeth. My teeth feel squeeky clean after doing this. Tongue scraping is thought to be better at cleaning the tongue that brushing it.
Dry brush before I get into the shower. By doing this it loosens dead skin cells and improves circulation... plus it feels great!
Take my vitamins!
That's my routine! I didn't even mention coffee... I gave that up a few years back and haven't looked back. I will either take a cup of yerba mate or a matcha/maca latte once I get into work.
What are your morning routines?

I do none of these things. I wish I did. Running is my only healthy vice.
ReplyDeleteI gave up coffee and switched to herbal tea...now I'm back to chai...it may be coffee again soon.
I drink lemon water all the time (but not in the morning)!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading a lot about lemon water right after you get up. I drink it often through out the week but since becoming a coffee drinker, I need to add more water to my morning routine!
ReplyDeleteI am an early riser so I get up and enjoy one big cup of coffee and a great breakfast before anyone else gets up. No music, just myself, watching the day in the city start....
