This week, I eased into running one week post marathon. I am taking it slow and easy... best way to recovery, I think. I didn't feel any soreness or DOMS after the race., and for that I am thankful.
I am enjoy running easy, and although I do have a race on the horizon, I'm not too worried about it. I am actually thinking about running that race as a "fun" run.
This is how my week ended up:
Sunday - 5 miles easy... first run after the marathon, felt awesome!
Monday - 4 miles easy... enjoyed it with the Gooses Acre Running Club.
Tuesday - Yin Yoga. Still in love with this class!
Wednesday - 3 miles easy
Thursday - Rest.
Friday - Rest.
Saturday - 4 miles easy with Sorcha.
Total Miles = 16
I'm linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippi Piddlin’ for the Weekly Wrap.

Although the rest and recovery feel good, it always amazes me how much I actually miss the consistent running. I usually don't realize I'm missing it until I get back in my "regular" routine, though.
ReplyDeleteHaving no soreness or ill effects after your marathon is testament to a great training cycle! But, it's smart to take it easy for a while. Your body does deserve some rest and recovery. Also, I think fun runs are the best kind. No pressure at all! Thanks for linking, Vicki!
