February Coffee Date

wp-1472756999291.jpgToday I'm joining the Ultimate Coffee Date for some catching up!  I don't regularly drink coffee any longer, but I do drink tea... so let's sit down and have a nice warm beverage and do some catching up!

Over tea, I'd tell you that I had a really great time last Sunday at Southern Star Brewery for Paint on Tap.  It was so much fun and had been such a long time since I had put brush to canvas.  I'm definitely going back!

Over tea, I'd ask if coffee beer was popular in your neck of the woods.  I had picked up Shiner's birthday beer which has cold brewed coffee in it, it's a limited time offering... I need to run out and get some more (it's that good). Also, while I was out at the brewery Sunday, they had their stout mixed with coffee too... that was really good! Maybe this has been around for a while and I haven't noticed.

Over tea, I'd tell you that I won some Brooks shoes and I was really excited to win them.  I don't wear Brooks, but my niece HD does... she was so excited when the package arrived with her beloved Glycerins.

Over tea, I'd mention that running a marathon has inspired my niece to run year round.. she even got out over last weekend to run a few miles in the cold KS winter temps. I'm so happy to share a common love with her.

Over tea, I'd ask if you plan on watching the Super Bowl?  I usually start out watching it, but unless it's a good game, I tend to just watch the commercials... let's hope we don't have another "puppy-monkey-baby" one this year, that was just creepy!

Well, that catches me up...what would you tell me, if we were having tea or coffee?

  1. Our running group is hosting one of those paint bar nights in a couple of weeks. They look like so much fun. Thanks for linking up for coffee today!

  2. How great you're able to share your love of running (and shoes too!) with her! I'm not planning on watching the SuperBowl and I have no idea what a puppy monkey baby is - maybe that's a good thing?! haha

  3. Most of the commercials I've seen so far have been really good -- particularly the Skittles one & the one with Melissa McCarthy. But we don't watch the superbowl here.

Beer & coffee -- eww! 2 of my least favorite things.

  4. I did paint nite once and it was super fun! Slightly stressful because I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but otherwise awesome! :)

  5. I'll be watching the Superbowl, but mainly for the commercials, too. Yes, the puppy/baby/monkey was CREEPY! I'm also looking forward to Lady Gaga!

  6. I love that you inspired your niece to run more. How sweet of you to give her the shoes. I've never heard of coffee beer. I'm not a beer drinker but I'd take a sip out of curiosity.

  7. Cold Brew Coffee Ale!!! OMG, my Ultimate Coffee Date post had a piece about how I just started making cold brew! I have to find this! I love that you are giving your niece running shoes! My niece is only 5 months old but I am patiently waiting for her feet to get big enough for Saucony's!

  15. Oh wow! Your painting is really good! I've gone to a few of those myself, but my art skills are lacking...
How did you win shoes? That's awesome! I actually just bought those myself and really love them. They are cushy, without being too pillowy. Perfect running shoes - your niece will love them.
"but unless it’s a good game, I tend to just watch the commercials" Did you watch?? I'm not a sports person, but I hear the last part of the game was rather exciting.

  16. Thanks! I won the shoes through a giveaway the Galveston Marathon was doing... interestingly enough, I had given my niece the glycerins last year after running in them only a half dozen times (the toe box is too narrow for me). I did watch the game, but ended up dozing off before the patriots launched their comeback, I was shocked in the morning at the outcome of the game.
