May Runfessions

Happy Friday!  I don't know about you, but I'm ready for the long weekend!  But, before we get into the weekend festivities... I've got a few runfessions to make.

I RUNFESS...

I finished up the "30 burpees for 15 days" challenge ealier in the week.  I didn't really see any vast improvements with my fitness, but my legs are still incredibly sore and I'm blaming it on the burpees and not all the "gently rolling hills" I ran while I was on vacation.

I ran in two races when I was on vacation, a half marathon and a 5k.  My nieces and nephew ran 5k at both races too. I couldn't resist the opportunity to get some matching capris for my neices and I to wear at the 5k.  If you want your own, head on over to Spandits! The code SPANDITSLOVE gets you 10% off your first order, be sure to tell them Vicki sent you.

While I did really well on keeping up on my fitness routine while I was on vacation, I didn't keep up so well on blogging... I was out having fun, so it's a win!

Now that I've healed from the post vacation blues... the hubs and I are planning a trip for our anniversary... lucky #13.  While I'm excited about going on vacation, I'm seriously thinking about how I'm going to get my runs in as I'll be in the midst of marathon training.

I'm getting fed up with the people in our neighborhood that don't make sure that their dogs are either leashed or fenced.  I've had a couple close calls with some pitbulls recently and I may have put up a angry rant about it on Nextdoor, at least I waited until after my run... because it could have been a lot worse.

What do you have to runfess?

I'm linking up with Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five 2.0 linkup and with Marcia's Healthy Slice for Runfessions.

  1. One of the few things I really disliked when I lived in Austin was the almost daily occurrence of an off leash dog. And obviously, I'm a dog lover!

I'm a morning person. My husband isn't. It's usually not that hard for me to get in my runs on vacation -- now, actually packing all those running clothes so I don't have a gazillion suitcases . . . that's a challenge.

  7. Off leash dogs... bad all around, for the dogs and people encountering them. I would hate for one to get run over.
It's the opposite in our household... the hubs is the morning person. On my last vacation, I had shipped a box of my running clothes to my moms, too bad that isn't practical for all vacations.

  10. Yes... it's dangerous for both the people encountering the dogs and the dogs!

  12. I was just in the neighborhood park and an owner was letting their dog run around free. There were quite a few walkers and runners in the park at the time and I thought it was very disrespectful. I've been known to let mine off leash, but only when no one is around. I hope you have fun on your anniversary trip!

  13. I agree! Even the best behaved dog can cause trouble or run off.
