February Recap and March Goals

February is leaving us in her dust... it's time to take a look at how I am progressing against my 2017 goals and how I did on my February goals.  I'm also setting a few goals for March.

2017 Goals:

  • Run my first marathon - Complete - check out the recap here.

  • Run 1,200 miles this year - making progress.  I am up to 160 miles for 2017.

  • Try out trail running- pressed the registration button for an easy trail race in March, and have a 25k trail race lined up in April.

  • Half Marathon PR - sub 2:02:38 - more on this later.

February Goals

  • Continue to go to yoga class - at least 1x/week - D ...  I made it to yoga 2 times this month, plus 1 at home practice

  • Do strengthening exercises 2x/week - e.g.; push-ups, squats, etc. - F ... 1x

  • Get up in the morning when alarm goes off, no snooze or multiple alarms - B- ... No more multiple alarms.  I did flirt with the snooze button a couple times during the month.

  • Meditate daily- C- ... I sat on my meditation cushion 17 times during the month

  • Clean and organize my home office - F ... Nope, didn't even touch it... I did however get my closet and bathroom in order!

Wow... if I brought a report card like this home, I would be grounded indefinitely!

Although I did not set any goals for February Running, I would give it an A+.  I had a total of 73.5 miles for the month... I got in 2 half marathons and a ran 3-4x a week.  I had some solid progression runs and some great long runs.  I made it to the Goose's Acre Running Club 3 times.

March Goals

  • Continue to make it to yoga - at least 1x/week

  • Go streaking... do #plankaday

  • Clean up eating... I've been slacking again, but I know I can do better (sugar, I'm looking at you)

  • Clean and organize my home office

What goals do you have for 2017?  Do you make monthly goals?

I'm linking up with Cowgirl Runs and Carmy for the Monthly Goals link-up and MCM Mama Runs, Marcia’s Healthy Slice, and My no-guilt life for Tuesdays on the Run.

  1. I need to do better with the eating too, I have been eating way too much sugar. Great month of running!

  2. Looks like somebody did great with the things things that were priorities! Way to rock your runs! By sitting on your meditation cushion, were you meditating? Or just sitting there. I'd call 17x a win!

  3. I love that you completed your marathon goal so early in the year! Way to go! I feel like both our February results were similar, hopefully we nail March! :)

  4. I've been having a love affair with the snooze button lately which is something I don't usually do. I need to break that habit big time. Keep up the good work - at least you attempted everything on your list!

  5. Wow girl! You're saying you'd get grounded for this report card, but it looks like you are accomplishing so much! It makes me feel like a bit of a slacker seeing how much you run. I had a goal of 10 miles/week this year and so far only have about 50 miles in (from eye surgery and sickness).
You've been getting the yoga in, the meditation - even if it's not quite as much as you'd like - it's still really good! I've been staying on top of my yoga which I'm happy about. I am working on spring cleaning too. I just have the office left too. That's the one I put off the most haha ;)
"Clean up eating… I’ve been slacking again, but I know I can do better (sugar, I’m looking at you)"
    Ditto. Damn you sugar!!!

  6. ha.. I meant for the grades I gave myself :-) Yea, everytime I go in there, I think - where do I even begin ... lol

  7. Thanks! Here's to a stellar march.

  8. It really is a bad habit. I've noticed that I don't feel any less refreshed by getting up when the alarm goes off the first time.

  9. It sounds like you're making great progress on your 2017 goals! Sometimes it's tough to get in as many workouts as we like in a month but every little bit makes a difference!

  10. I'm with you on the cleaning! My mom is staying with me in 2 weeks so I know i need to get my butt in gear and tidy my spare room (again!)
    Thanks for linking up.
